GARLAND, TX — Summer is wrapping up, and Garland Christian Academy is ready to launch another exciting year of athletics. Fall sports officially kick off on Monday, August 3rd, for Middle School Football, Varsity Football, JV Volleyball, and Varsity Volleyball. Athletes participating in these early August sports should note that all players must report directly to the gym on Monday morning before heading out to their respective tryouts or practice locations. Kickoff Schedule for Monday, August 3rd: Football (Middle School & Varsity): Practice begins at 9:00 AM. Volleyball (JV & Varsity): Tryouts begin at 10:00 AM. Note: Middle School Volleyball will officially begin on the first day of school, Monday, August 17th. Important Participation Requirements To step onto the court or field, all student-athletes must have their required clearance paperwork completed prior to the start of practice or tryouts. Required documents include: Updated Sports Physical (completed by a physician) Medical History Form Both required forms are available for download directly from the official TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) website. Please ensure these are turned in so your athlete doesn't miss out on Day 1. Looking Ahead to the Season Energy and expectations are high across the athletic department as teams prepare to build on their offseason momentum.
